The itinerary of the Strada Reale dei vini torinesi takes in areas with a rm tradition in craftsmanship: here you can buy original objects in wood, ceramics and stone of Luserna, and much more. Also the many culinary delights characteristic to the area make exquisite souvenirs: honey, cheeses, bread sticks, sweets and many other local products.
Excellence is the best souvenir. Crossing through the wonderful vineyard-covered landscapes, you can admire the rich cultural heritage of the province of Torino: apart from the sumptuous Savoy residences such as the magnicent Reggia di Venaria, also not to be missed are the Sacra di San Michele, the Fenestrelle Fort and the Castles of Canavese. The many theme-itineraries are fascinating and diversied, such as the Via Francigena, as are the excursion paths. Torino offers marvellous museums, historical cafés and plenty of architectural beauty: here the Strada Reale offers the surprise of the vineyards of the Villa della Regina.
A place where taste and history combine. Torino e Collina TorineseThe hills to the south of Torino can offer plenty in the way of nature, agricultural interest, historical sites, craftsmanship and culture. A rst class ‘ecosystem’ both for its panorama and in its concentration of biodiversity: in addition to DOC wines there is a rich variety of garden produce and fruit, such as the cherries from Pecetto which, in the spring, is a mass of blossom. Ideal for relaxed walks cycling along country paths or cycle tracks, from this area can be seen exceptional panoramic glimpses of Torino. The Parco Fluviale del Po (Po Riverside Park) is perfect for nature walks and study and for sports along the banks of Italy’s longest river. On the hills to the east of the city there is a wine-growing district that consists of 28 Municipalities. Two DOC wines come from here – the historic Freisa di Chieri and the recent Collina Torinese, obtained as a result of the efforts by a production network of small and medium companies. This is a territory deeply imbued with the Savoy tradition, where the wine-growing land is interspersed with villages, castles and churches. One of these, the Basilica of Superga designed by Juvarra, provides a regal touch to the prole of the hill. CanaveseCanavese is a splendid corner of Piemonte which encloses an endless number of historical, artistic, natural and wine/food treasures. This area has a unique situation: it rises from 200m to 4,000 metres within the space of just a few kilometres. From the plain of the Po and Dora Baltea Rivers, you can go up the hills to the Morainic Amphitheatre of Ivrea and then continue climbing up to the green mountains and to the ragged peaks of Gran Paradiso. This will be a visit of continual discovery due to the extremely diversied natural settings and the culture of the people who have always lived in these areas. Canavese is a land full of lakes and castles, where all the vineyards testify to the passion for wine that has roots in a distant past. In this territory situated to the north of Torino, excellent DOC wines are produced, including the white wine Erbaluce di Caluso and the reds Canavese and Carema which has the characteristic of being grown on pergolas standing ont eh terraced land. Here there is concentrated the highest number of producers, with four Wine-Growers’ Cooperatives and two Regional Enoteche. Typical to Canavese is the production of Caluso Passito made from Erbaluce grape which are left to dry on racks, or hung, for six months. Val SusaFor centuries a corridor through which armies, pilgrims and merchants passed, the Val Susa has retained a marvellous collection of historical and artistic artefacts, and also traces of other material culture to learn about by following the Itineraries of Alpine Religious Art. Along the route you will nd enchanting historical town centres, typical Alpine hamlets, complex fortications and ancient abbeys, especially the one that dominates the valley: the powerful Sacra di San Michele, a monument and symbol of the Piemonte Region. Mount Rocciamelone, the Lakes of Avigliana, the natural Alpine parks and the Mount Chaberton are essential stops in any tourist’s plan. And then there are places in the Sangone and Cenischia Valleys offering beautiful panoramas and examples of local tradition. The wine-growing area of Val Susa is within the mountainous area. This is one of the areas that hosted the 2006 Olympics, and its grape farms extend to cover 19 Municipalities, rising up to an extreme height: here is found Europe’s highest red grape vineyard. The wine-growing and producing system is made up of small farms that can now claim the “DOC” appellation. Very interesting vineyards are those found high up in Chiomonte from which the very special “ice-wine” is made. Contatti Eventi La Strada Reale dei Vini Torinesi è un’Associazione senza fini di lucro costituita nel 2008, cui partecipano produttori di vino, operatori turistici ed enogastronomici privati, Enti pubblici, Consorzi, associazioni e organizzazioni collettive. Attraversando splendidi paesaggi vitati potrai ammirare il ricco patrimonio culturale della provincia di Torino: oltre alle sontuose residenze dei Savoia, come la magnifica Reggia di Venaria, sono imperdibili la Sacra di San Michele, il Forte di Fenestrelle e i Castelli del Canavese. Affascinante e articolato il ventaglio di itinerari tematici, come la Via Francigena, e di sentieri escursionistici. Torino e Collina TorineseIl territorio collinare a sud di Torino regala moltissime meraviglie di carattere ambientale, agricolo, storico, artigianale e culturale. Un ecosistema di pregio sia sul versante paesaggistico sia per la concentrazione delle biodiversità: ai vini DOC si aggiunge una ricca varietà di prodotti dell’orto e del frutteto, tra cui le ciliegie di Pecetto, località che in primavera vedrai vestita di bianco per la fioritura.Ideale per tranquille passeggiate a piedi o in bicicletta, attraverso i percorsi ciclabili e le strade bianche, quest’area ti riserverà incantevoli scorci panoramici su Torino.Il Parco Fluviale del Po è perfetto per attività naturalistiche e sportive lungo le sponde del fiume più lungo d’Italia.Sulle fasce collinari a est della città si estende un comprensorio vitivinicolo che unisce 28 Comuni. Due le DOC presenti, la storica Freisa di Chieri e la recente Collina Torinese, ottenute grazie al lavoro di un tessuto produttivo di piccole e medie aziende. È un territorio di forte impronta sabauda, dove le aree vitate si alternano a borghi, castelli e chiese. Fra queste, domina la valle l’imponente Sacra di San Michele, monumento simbolo della Regione Piemonte. Il monte Rocciamelone, i Laghi di Avigliana, i parchi naturali alpini e il monte Chaberton sono mete escursionistiche irrinunciabili. Le località delle valli Sangone e Cenischia, inoltre, offrono affascinanti panorami ed esempi delle tradizioni locali.Il territorio vitato della Val Susa si trova interamente in zona montana. In quest’area, fra quelle che hanno ospitato le Olimpiadi del 2006, la coltivazione si estende in un comprensorio di 19 Comuni, no ad altitudini estreme: proprio qui potrai visitare il vigneto a bacca rossa più alto d’Europa. Il sistema vitivinicolo è costituito da piccole aziende che ora possono fregiarsi della DOC. Interessanti gli splendidi vigneti di Chiomonte, dove si produce il particolarissimo “vino del ghiaccio”.
Val Susa Il Canavese è uno splendido angolo di Piemonte che racchiude un’infinità di tesori storici, artistici, naturalistici ed enogastronomici. Quest’area presenta una particolarità unica: si passa dai 200 ai 4.000 metri di altitudine in poche decine di chilometri. Dalle pianure del Po e della Dora Baltea potrai salire sulle colline dell’Anfiteatro Morenico di Ivrea e poi sempre più su fino a verdi montagne e alle aspre cime del Gran Paradiso: gli scenari naturali estremamente differenti e la cultura dell’uomo che da sempre popola questi paesaggi renderanno la tua visita una continua scoperta.Il Canavese è una terra ricca di laghi e di castelli, dove i vigneti sono la prova di una passione per il vino che vanta radici antiche.In questo territorio situato a nord di Torino si producono eccellenti vini DOC fra cui il bianco Erbaluce di Caluso e i rossi Canavese e Carema, che vanta un originalissimo sistema produttivo “a pergola” su terrazzamenti. Qui è concentrato il più alto numero di produttori, con quattro Cantine sociali e due Enoteche Regionali. Tipica del Canavese è la produzione del Caluso Passito da uve Erbaluce, lasciate appassire su graticci, o appese, per sei mesi.
Canavese Il territorio collinare a sud di Torino regala moltissime meraviglie di carattere ambientale, agricolo, storico, artigianale e culturale. Un ecosistema di pregio sia sul versante paesaggistico sia per la concentrazione delle biodiversità: ai vini DOC si aggiunge una ricca varietà di prodotti dell’orto e del frutteto, tra cui le ciliegie di Pecetto, località che in primavera vedrai vestita di bianco per la fioritura.Ideale per tranquille passeggiate a piedi o in bicicletta, attraverso i percorsi ciclabili e le strade bianche, quest’area ti riserverà incantevoli scorci panoramici su Torino.Il Parco Fluviale del Po è perfetto per attività naturalistiche e sportive lungo le sponde del fiume più lungo d’Italia.Sulle fasce collinari a est della città si estende un comprensorio vitivinicolo che unisce 28 Comuni. Due le DOC presenti, la storica Freisa di Chieri e la recente Collina Torinese, ottenute grazie al lavoro di un tessuto produttivo di piccole e medie aziende. È un territorio di forte impronta sabauda, dove le aree vitate si alternano a borghi, castelli e chiese. Fra queste, la Basilica di Superga, opera dello Juvarra, costituisce un regale ornamento al prolo della collina.
